In 2014, the artists Mazaccio and Drowilal travelled to Silicon Valley in California, that now mythic spot that generates most of the technology we use every day. The Happiness Project - A journey through Silicon Valley -reconstructs, through a series of photographs, a colourful and subjective record of their journey. Exploring subjects from counter-culture and its links with technology to New Ageism, it also touches on environmental awareness and the region’s intense culture of sport. Still lifes punctuate the book, like contemporary vanitas, symbolizing how the great Californian ideals sit alongside the work of its corporations.
